2021 30 X 24″ OIL ON CANVAS
Tatanka Iyotake (Sitting Bull) 1831 – 15 Dec 1890.
The great Hunkpapa Lakota leader, whose reputation for generations was one of a villainous savage, was in fact a visionary and a true heroic patriot to his nation.
He is quoted in the inscription; “The warrior is not someone who fights, because no one has the right to take another life. The warrior for us is someone who sacrifices himself for the good of others. His task is to take care of the elderly, the defenseless, those who cannot provide for themselves, and above all, the children, the future of humanity.” Sitting Bull.
