Description
A Taniwha is a guardian, maybe for an area. a landmark, a lake or stream, or a forest. He or she may be personified as a serpent like creature or as a spirit. Without the respect and endorsement of the locals the taniwha may become dangerous, but they are here to help us. Ignoring the fragility of our environment for the sake of a dollar is a painful way to see the world.
Taniwha Tears was a part of Te Herenga Waka Festival in Auckland 2018.
